We thought it, we wanted it, we did it!

Chess Dreams raised enough money to send supplies to Ecuador! To bring the educational benefits of chess to people around the world!

Why Ecuador?

Our beloved volunteer Maria Astudillo came to us with an idea to help kids from her hometown in Ecuador. A former teacher of Maria is taking extra time out of her paid work day to teach chess to her students because she believed it helped improve their education. However, she did not have many resources and asked Maria if Chess Dreams could donate some supplies so her teacher can impact more kids. So we went out and got fundraising for this mission in addition to our New Jersey chapter. See some of the pictures of our time in Ecuador below:
